    Boring title, eh?

Mr Dog gets a Cattle Toy?
Still not terribly exciting but anyway…
While we were up in the mountains, poor Mr Dog did not have his buddy Wyatt to chew upon and we forgot to bring hm any toys. We felt bad and he was driving us nuts so we went to the Dollar General across the street from our cabin and purchsed him some toys. The best? The stuffed cow that mooed.

He fairly quickly removed the mooer and then ate the eyes out of its head. Its tail is also gone but otherwise it still remains mostly whole.

We had a nice little cabin and a nice little bear.

We went on a hike that ended up being 8 miles. We saw flowers:

I think it’s an elk.  Mr Dog was certainly interested.

He was also highly interested in the MUD.

The first half of the trail, where we got most of out pictures before our battery died, was all fire road.

There were some very nice ponds and a big old lake.

There were some things that were just neat – views, dead trees and a crap ton of pine cones…

Mr Dog had a good time but I think he eventually was bored

Now that you’ve looked at a crapton of pictures.

Can someone recommend me a BETTER digital camera?

I’m thinking a quick shooter, auto focus and pretty much auto everything but with decent resolution…

  • Mr Wyatt is now Mr Tucker and is safely and happily adopted.

We are safely home after a mostly uneventful but beautiful and relaxing vacation in the mountains. It was a bit chilly (lower 40s at night) but nothing too serious. Pictures will be posted when I motivate my lazy ass to do something.

  • Bye-bye Foster Dog #1

Wyatt is currently in the SUV of a nice lady, heading down to Maricopa to meet his new (potential) fur-ever family. They are a 40-something couple with a 21-year old daughter and a three year old son. The husband works nights and the wife stays at home. The bike and/or walk daily, have a fenced in backyard and live near a park and a green belt off the canals. This sounds PERFECT for Mr. Wyatt.

Indiana is currently delighting in being able to be loose in the house with his cow-femur. But I’m pretty certain that he will be missing his dog-buddy soon enough.

    I think I will too.

Until the next one (approximately 1 month from now!)

    Good Luck Wyatt!

  • When you are a fat, fat kitty…

    It’s hard to get up…

  • What do you spend most of your money on?

    Mortgage payments!

    And car payments!

    And credit card payments!

    And utility payments!

Man, it’s harsh to be a grownup.

I just answered this Featured Question, you can answer it too!

  • Yarrr, mateys!
It’s International Talk Like A Pirate Day!

Avast, you land lubbers and all that jazz.

    And enough of that…

    Happiness time instead.

Mr Fat Head has a potential family! Yay for Wyatt. Someone finally saw him and wanted him and applied for him. I’ve talked to the wife on the phone and they sound wonderful. Let’s all keep our fingers and toes crossed that the homecheck goes well, they meet him and like him and that he will then be THEIR doggie. Maybe this can all get done by Friday

    because!

Friday we are going out of town. Hubby and I are taking a long weekend and the dog (or dogs as the case maybe) to go to a cabin up by the White Mountains in the area of the Apache Sitgreaves National Forest.

There will be sleeping, sexing, reading, sleeping, cross-stitching and much of the pizza eating and soda drinking.

And maybe some hiking. But definitely some porch sitting and some picture taking!

    Mmmmm.

Now, if only it were FRIDAY already!

  • Well bugger me!

That puts a crimp in my whole day.

I wonder if he left notes or something so SOMEONE can finish the series. I hate it when something is left hanging.

**Please note, I am not trying to be insensitive to his death. I have nothing but the utmost sorrow, compassion, etc, etc, for his widow and surviving family members. But remember, I am inherently selfish and I want my series finished and to have some closure for myself **

  • Any Sex and the City fans out there?

    I got a question.
I just rented disk one from Netflix to see if it is worth the effort. After two episodes, I’m not impressed. Is it worth sticking it out? I know lots of people adore this show and I don’t want to make a snap judgement…

  • Mr Dog’s First Birthday

Indiana turned a year old on August 28th.

    I made him a cake.

I took one can of gross dog food and shaped it into a half-globe on a plate, frosted it with mashed potatoes and then crowned it with a mini-can of dessert dog food (apple cobbler flavor!) and then decorated with sliced apples. He likes apples.

    Here is the cake:

He knew something was up when we put the foster dog outside and left him in so he was just all aquiver with anticipation…

Then he got a whiff of the cake while he was trying to be a good boy and WAIT

Of course, once it was on the floor, it was also fair game for the starving beasts that live with us we like to call kitties…

Luckily, Indiana is submissive to the cat and didn’t get pissy that Zeppo was cruising for some birthday cake.

Indiana’s favorite part of the cake?

    The ‘taters.

He moved everything to eat those first.

    And made a mess.

Happy Birthday Indiana! (Belated, I know)

Mayhap tomorrow I will post his birthday present opening…

  • I just finished lunch. It was both tasty and healthy. And, bonus, easy!

I bought a nifty little lunch kit from Trader Joe’s. There is a Trader Joe’s right by work and once a week, I go buy my week’s worth of lunch stuff from there. It costs me about $4 to $5 a day to have mostly healthy, fruit’n'veggie heavy food that tastes good.

Anyhow, back to the lunch kit, they premake them and it was:

1/2 turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread
    1 piece of string cheese
1 bag of chocolate graham crackers
    1 240mL bottle of water
10 baby carrots with a little vial of ranch dip

All this with 1 napkin and 370 calories. And then I added in a handful of fresh raspberries. Mmmmm. Raspberries!
