Any Sex and the City fans out there?
I got a question.
I just rented disk one from Netflix to see if it is worth the effort. After two episodes, I'm not impressed. Is it worth sticking it out? I know lots of people adore this show and I don't want to make a snap judgement...

I rented the a few seasons from Netflix too and had difficulty watching them but I did because I love the show. I know what you're saying but if I was to finish watching the series I would buy the DVDs, I felt the same way about the C. Bushnell book I just got tired of it and haven't picked it back up but have it around just in case same as the show.
OK - I have the box set. I started out catching bits and pieces of them on TBS, and it ended up catching my interest. But that took a bit. I would leave it as the last channel and flip back and forth between what I REALLY wanted to watch and that. It took about 2 years before I really started to watch it first, and it was then I started looking for the DVD's. I HAVE to be the mood though. Ended up getting the box set for a great price on Amazon.
Unfortunately - I have only been in the mood to see it a couple times since we got it - and we got it after the new TV (HD) so the DVD's don't look all that great. I have to go to the basement to watch them. Especially since the kids definitely can't watch the uncensored ones. (I won't even put that it on TBS if they're up.)
i got the box set for xmas and i've watched all of them including some I hadn't seen in their entireyt, but with the reruns on tv, i don't see myself ever watching from the set again. i say save your money.
If you can borrow it for free, go for it. I just watched season one this week, and I want to slap all four of those women. However, I've been reassured by several friends that I shouldn't worry, it gets better, the characters get wiser, and the story gets richer. I don't see it happening. But I'm going to probably catch the rest of it eventually.
My wife loved the show. She has watched it all from front to back. It does get a better after the first few episodes.
Season 1 is definitely not my favorite, that's for sure...
I like the show, but I watch it on TBS at 11pm when I'm procrastinating going to sleep. I feel like I'm Carrie--still lookin'.
What can I say? I love football!
I'll try to make a post sometime soon that isn't about football.
If I remember correctly, she directs monologues at the camera at first. It gets better after that stops.
I hated the first few episodes--where she spoke to the camera and random people did too. I like the later season better (although some of the things on those are still irritating). I'd say stick it out!
