  • Post-Party

    Boy, parties are hard work.
    I'm glad it's over.
And yet, I'm vaguely disappointed that people who said that they'd come did not. (And there were several of these

The Sweet'n'Tangy meatball recipe I got from a very kind Xanga was a MASSIVE success. Everybody loved those. The cheesecake was delicious. The gelato was wonderfully creamy. The rest was satisfactory.

I've got leftovers out the ass.

  • oh man, i'm tellin' jessi.  i'm glad.

  • lol ... well, freeze up some so you don't get sick of 'em.  (I hate it when people are no-shows, too... it's so rude!)

  • what's the recipe for the meatballs? grape jelly and pizza sauce? have you heard of that one?

  • You always have leftovers. Wrap the cheese with a chunk of waxed paper or parchment paper between the slices. That way you can thaw a few slices at a time. Most firm cheeses, chedder, colbey stuff like that freeze OK.

When planning a party of any kind, consider the month, November and December = people are busy. Major holidays they may also be busy. Plan on 1/3 of the invited not to show, even if they RSVP. Intice them with booze, any good drunk will show up for booze and food.

Theme parties can go very good or horribly wrong. In Indiana "Summer Bummers" in Febuary are good. Turn up the heat in the house to just about Deep Fat Fry and encourage people to attend in bathing suits or tank tops and shorts. In AZ you may want to throw an artic party and wait until July or August and turn the air down to 60 or so. Serve hot food, have an electric heater framed like a fireplace.

    Hope it was fun.
