• What did Mr Dog learn?

  He can: sit, stay, wait, lay down, come when called, he knows his name, he goes to bed. He knows how to do puppy pushups and what the word "uh-uh" means. He knows how to ring the jingle bells to go out and he knows (sometimes) to ring the other doorbell to come in. He knows how to loose-leash walk and how to sit when people come up to pet him. He knows not to on people jump (most of the time) and that he's not allowed into the pantry where the litterboxes and cat food live. We're working on sitting with very big distraction (such as balls bouncing nearby and suchlike) and on staying where he's told to even when we leave the room. He's also learning how to roll over and I will, I think, be adding play dead to that list. He knows how to leave it for dropped food and how to get it for dropped or thrown items (sometimes!). He's got a lot further to go but in general, he's a very well behaved dog.

  He's also got an upper respiratory infection and doesn't feel very well. He's very coughy/hacky/pukey. He's banned from the dog park and we have a follow up vet visit next week to see if he'll be cleared for activity.

  That's okay. I'm sick too. Since February 16th. Yuck. I'm finally breaking down and going to the doctor tomorrow. That will be the first time in years that I've gone to the doctor for anything other than a routine pap smear. I'm hoping it's actually allergies and they'll give me some happy drugs to clear me up. I fear it is not. If it's not - maybe I can have Valley Fever. As opposed to the  TB that Jeremy at work keeps trying to convince me I have...
