If the maintenance men are supposed to stop by between 9am and noon to
change your furnace filter - what are the odds that they'll actually be
there around 9am and that you'll be sitting around in only your panties
and have to do the pants scramble?
What do you suppose the chances are that certain male readers wish they were your maintenance man?
Hahahahahaha
Well, it just figures. If you actually want them to show up early so you can get some things accomplished, they show up an hour and a half late.
Hmm... Why was it the first thing I thought after reading that was "But... were they cute?" LOL... ryc: I will try to remember to post those links tomorrow.
What are the habits of the workmen? What sort of enviornments do they live and work in? What are your habits like (this is not a personal question, just a consideration)? What sorts of factors influence the workmen? What are their business policies like? What sorts of projects do they have going on? etc. At least those sorts of questions would lead one to consider the probability for a future occurance of such. So, it seems reasonable enough with these questions, and only after thinking about these questions (meaning if you don't think about them, it appears perfectly logical to have a high amount of belief that the probabilitiy is low, and determinable), which I admit is much, much easier to do looking at things in hindsight, that the amount of certainty in a belief for any particular probablility or any small range of probabilities concerning such a future event is low (when one keeps such questions in mind). Then again, I'm sitting here at a computer after the fact. So, my partial analysis could only possibly help when trying to evaluate future probabilities. And not for unfortunate incidents.
