Month: November 2002

  • all during class tonight…bits of three songs merging in my head to a very steady but unknown background of a deep deep drum…what was I hearing…

“‘cleveland rocks!’ ‘tiny tragedies….’ ‘ohoooooohohohohoooooo’ ‘cleveland’ ‘tiny tragedies….’ ‘rocks’ ‘ohoooooohohohohoooooo’ ‘tiny’ ‘ohoooooohohohohoooooo’ ‘cleveland rocks’ ‘tragedies….”

all in no discernable pattern for no discernable reason with no real rhythm other than that bizarrely steady beat…

this is atypical. music typically sticks in my head in semi-logical if oft misremember lyrical order…but this, this is like cracked out band monkeys (the worst kind of monkey! those crazy french monkeys, for allllllll monkey’s are french, ask Oz, he knows!!) attempting to play at a drunken 12 year old’s birthday party….

    I think I need sleep.

  • hmmmmm….

    stripped the bed…

found 9 socks. Not pairs. 9 single socks.

    where’s #10?

and yes, they are Ninja feet, with Ninja weapons, however, I sadly have NO Ninja shoes for my Ninja feet….

  • I wear socks at night, to bed I mean. It is Ohio, it’s cold, my feet are cold…so I wear socks. Rather, they’re on when I go to bed but every single morning…when I wake up, they’re off. There is a neat little pile of socks down by my feet on the floor. Apparently I have ninja feet (thank you Tom for the link to Ninjas) and take my socks of with my toes, because I really think I’d wake up if I had to go under the covers to take the socks off with my hands…

  • look! it’s boots!…looking incredibly fat and comfortable…note the casually crossed forepaws

  • 1.  What is better than you thought it would be?  What is worse?

    Grad school to both.

    2.  What is poetry?  As in, finish this sentence:  Poetry is….

Poetry is in a lot of places you never expected to find it. It’s not always words, sometimes it’s a feeling, a vision, a sight, a touch, a smell…

    3.  What brought you to xanga?  What will make (or be the seed of the reason) you decide leave (if you decide to leave)?

I’m a sheep…bahhhhhhh….I followed my friends to xanga. And I would leave if I were required to pay for premium.

    4.  What is trite but true?

Love hurts and scars. Love wounds and mars (sorry Roy, had to use your song lyrics and hope that I get them right from memory…stupid slow computer)

    5.  Is there a dream you’ve given up on?  A dream you will never give up on?

I gave up my dream of being a veternarian…and my dream I will never give up…well, yes I have one but I decline to mention what it is.

  • so, my craftiness has never been great.

    but I am trying.

I have made nifty ass magnets (if you want me to post directions I can, suffice to say, they’re easy enough I can handle and good gifts.)

I’m also making a fishy cross-stitch (both fishy for it’s design and for the fact that it includes fish)…but my dorkiness of the night….
    http://www.birdcrossstitch.com/CrossStitch/southwest/kokopelli.html

it’s free and it will be my bro-in-laws xmas present, assuming I can decipher how to stick it in/on a pillow…any ideas?

I also have bought a woodburning tool, which is just fun, if a bit stinky (I’m waiting to see what happens when the cats try to play with it) and I also am finishing/staining shelves for my mother for xmas.

so I guess I’m getting craftier…only not in the sly sense…

  • so…my computer, yeah, either it’s screwy or else my computer is screwy…

if I’m at work and I go to my xanga site, I see my picture o’ Buffy and Angel

At home, it is the damn golden dragon

I cannot get rid of the damn golden dragon.

    What do you guys see?

  • mmmmm….

    gometric’s pumpkin cookies kick ass…..

(see the oct 16th entry on her site…)

  • I’ve decided that if life were that claw game where you can win a stuffed animal for a quarter…I’d be that dusty, cheap, fake gold watch in the back…the one that everyone looks at and says, “oh, that’s kinda nice” but then decides it is way too much work to even reach for, let alone actually grasp.

  • 1.  What are you hungry for?

    mmmmm….snuggling….oooo, and steak!

    2.  What’s dragging you down?

    me. myself. and guilt.

    3.  What have you done on a dare (or seen done on a dare)?

does sex in the Cedar Point count? was that a dare? does it count if you dare yourself to do it?

    4.  What’s the funniest thing you’ve heard a child say?

oh…so many things….”shit” as a baby’s first word, those oh so innocent questions about sex….

    5.  Would you vote For or Against the following (and why?):  All [people] are created equal and there are certain unalienable rights that governments should never violate. These rights include the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. When a government fails to protect those rights, it is not only the right, but also the duty of the people to overthrow that government. In its place, the people should establish a government that is designed to protect those rights.

For. I’m rather anti-government, especially in the form it currently exists. For references and reasons why, read Tom Tomorrow’s comic series (strip?) ”This Modern World”
