    I'm still working up to eventually jogging the whole thing - the inclines are brutal. But I'm burning about 400 calories in 45 minutes and maintaining at least a 14 minute mile average - just over 5k usually.

  • wow. this is really cool. i injured my foot this fall and have been too scared to attempt the treadmill again. i am currently doing 40 minutes on the elliptical, crosstramp 12, resistence 5 to 7, rpms at least 140 or higher. I tend to burn between 500 & 600 calories, depending on how fast I go. and now i've added strength training, which i wish i would have added last year.  and then i cool down on the recumbant bike.  i sweat like a hog in heat; it's disgusting (are female pigs called hogs, too? i typed that and thought: what if a hog is just a male pig ... male pigs don't really go into heat ...). i think i sweated away some of my brain cells. is sweated a word?

    Sweated is a word - I think. But a female pig, at least one that's had babies is called a sow. I think they're called a gilt before they have piglets.

    And I hate the elliptical. It makes my toes numb. My gym has four different models. And all of them make my toes go numb. I hate that! Do you have that problem?

  • My toes go numb on this other machine that is a cross between a stair stepper and an elliptical.  I do it anyway because it is a more intense workout. I should really learn my swine!
