  • Wow.

Wedding emergency that was cleared up (Thanks, Mom!).

    10% raise at work.

Halfway working machinery even post technician visit (stupid ICP-MS, why can you NOT have a functional standard curve for Copper or Strontium?).

Down to my lowest weight since who knows when? (158.6 - see my ticker!)

My weight loss forum's website has been down since 9am (and I don't know if I used that stupid apostrophe correctly but it didn't make sense without it - Help me o grammar police!) *thanks ponderous!

Weird day. And it's only 1500. Still plenty of day left.

  • Yes....thank you mom!

  • Hey, I remember that. There were elements you can't do on the ICP, but you don't know why better than I don't know why. I just remember I had to go use an AAS to get Ca numbers, I think. Man, I loved doing that stuff, but soon decided I didn't want to do it all for a carreer.

  • @dancedout - It wouldn't be so frustrating except that we've been running both Cu and Sr for about 3 years with no problems with the standard curve. None. And now, suddenly - bam - nothing. Stupid $(%&(^% machine! And the AA (We have a Graphite Furnace AA) is not an option because we have 17 elements that we analyze on the ICP and if it's going down, we a.) can't afford to buy those 17 lamps for the AA and b.) only have space on the machine for 8 lamps at a time and c.) the ICP runs an entire run in 30 hours and the AA would take about 5 times as long....

What a pain! Sometimes I don't think I can do this as a career either! And then they shove me on over into the HPLC area and that's a whole different ball of wax...
