  • Do you believe there is a soul mate for you, somewhere out there?

Given that I don’t actually believe that there is a soul as per the Christian definition, no I don’t.

Even if you define soul as that which animates all living beings (like kitties!), I still don’t buy it.  Love is all well and good but soul-mate implies some sort of fate or destiny. Which is crap.

  • The featured question is stupid so I’ll have to make up my own post.

I don’t have any plans for this impending Labor Day weekend. Instead of running around like an idiot or planning anything terribly elaborate, I think I will:

    • Go to one of those paint your own pottery places and paint something new. Last time I did a wall-lizard (still needs to be hung!) and this time, maybe I’ll do something a bit more fancy-schmancy.

    • Go to the gym and not be there at 0500. I really hate cardio at 0500. It just sucks. It really does. Cardio isn’t fun to begin with but at that point in time when it’s hard enough to roll out of the bed, stepping onto a treadmill or an elliptical is akin to dancing on gravel barefoot.

    • Take both doggies to the dog park and then give them a bath and brushing. Mr Foster Dog especially needs his curly-coated self a good brushing. Indiana just needs some maintenance and I’m hoping the bath and brushing will help with the dog hair in my house. (I’m bizarrely optimistic at times). I also want to brush all the assorted furkids teeth. There is some stank-o breath in my house.

    • Sleep. Maybe even sleep IN. But if not sleeping in, then taking a nap. Maybe all three days of the weekend. Sounds positively decadent…

    • Shave my legs and other assorted necessary bits.

    • Start taking Alli and deal with the potential “treatment effects” (ha! such a polite way to talk about something so icky)

What are you doing this weekend?

  • If you had the chance to have three wishes (no wishing for more wishes) what would they be and why?

1.) The invention of cheap, environmentally sound, easily available and COMFORTABLE instantaneous matter transmission. That’s right, baby – TELEPORTATION. No more commuting, no more airplanes – I could just pop from work to home and back again. Then I could go to Indiana for dinner with my family, have breakfast in Ohio with a friend and still let my dogs out to potty around lunchtime. Not to mention, the reduction in pollution and the savings in my time…

2.) The monetary means to not have to work unless I chose to. I certainly don’t want to be a stay-at-home-doggie-mom but I’d like to not live the 9 to 5 grind, if you know what I mean.

3.) I’d like to be at my ideal body weight. I think, no, I KNOW I could maintain it once I had it but getting there is truly a bitch. I don’t want to be skinny so much as I want to be at a healthy and slightly less lumpy size. Also, I like to think that at that ideal body weight, my boobies would go back to the cute little B cups and I could wear all those cute little demi bras I have floating around that I need both cups to cover one of these DD bad boys now…

  • Remember those oh so cute puppies that I transported down to Tucson a while back?

    SIV

This little girl – Sylvia (or Siv for short) needs help.

She has an eye condition that requires the removal of one of her eyes.

    Can you help?

If you think you can, check out this link.

No spare funds? Perhaps you can pass this link along or post her adorable pic on your website, especially if you get more hits that I usually do.

    Thanks!

  • What is one thing you’ve learned today?

Maybe not so much learned as had reinforced:

People talk shit, dream big and talk smack but rarely follow through. All talk, no action.

  • Who do you look up to and why?

Just about everyone as I’m so dad-ratted short!

    In all seriousness -

Jackie for just about everything. She’s pretty cool.

ponderous because she has serious, serious guts and determination. Plus she’s cute.

gometric because she just had a baby and that takes some serious effort

The nice lady who gave me Indiana – not only does she save lots of kitties and Indiana’s mom and siblings, she had the guts to go back to school at the age of 40-something nearly 50-something!

Mostly, I respect people who make the choices that other people avoid and make them grit and flair.

  • New hair cut.
    Pictures are as follows:
    sidal
    backal
    frontal

Super short wash and wear with spikable possibilities.
Made more than slightly lesbianated by the wife beater but still cute enough to be acceptable.
Considering where to go with the color. Maybe black?

Just needed a wash-n-go kind of deal as the days just keep getting busier.
Of late my schedule is as follows:
Up at 0445, contacts and gym clothes
Gym from 0500 until about 0545
Home by 0600 and @ dog park with the heathen puppies by 0615
Leave dog park by 0655 and home by 0710
Shower, eat and out the door no later than 0815
Commute and get to work by 0900
Work and take shortest lunch imaginable and leave work by 1730
Home by 1825 and out with the dogs in the backyard sprinklers until about 1920
Feed the dogs and myself all by 2000 and then read/cross-stitch/veg out until about 2030 to 2100
Then there is the delicious sleep
which is usually interrupted by at least one potty break for me (about 0200)
and one for the doggies (about 0330)
Sadly, the potty breaks do NOT coincide….

  • What’s the oldest thing you own?

Of things that are mine and were never anyone else’s

    My Teddy bear.

I’ve had him since before I was two, so he’s more than 25 years old.

Of things that I own that I got from someone else…

    who knows?

  • So I think I want to buy this shirt.

    blue

    What do you think?
    Too slutty?

    Too slutty for work?

  • Which part of your job do you find most enjoyable on a daily basis?

Aside from the covered parking and the flex-time?

Seriously, I enjoy assay development in general because it’s like a great big puzzle. And since it’s biology – it isn’t logical but it is usually reasonable. Reasonable assuming that you can find the necessary literature or kit or chemical or what not. Somedays it is frustrating but mostly, it keeps me motivated to keep looking for a real answer.
