well, now and I went and saw my apartment that I want.
after seeing it, I want it more.
it's nothing grand, it's not superb - but it is modern, clean, neat, carpeted (brand new in the living room!). It has two bedrooms, the furnace and the water heater both are in my apartment. It has a dishwasher. It has a garbage disposal! And, a linen closet!
big walk in closets in both rooms. there is a slight lack of windows, but that does cut down on heating...and a patio. granted, there is no grass, but a paved patio is very nice! sweep it off get a lawn chair, let the kitties frolic...ooo and get a bird feeder!
and, i can put in lots of holes! as well as paint (so long as I repaint back to sherwin williams antique white - any ideas how much sherwin williams runs a gallon?) because I really really really want a green bedroom (a nice sage green...or maybe a moss green...with my brand new full size bed....) new windows/screens...it is AWAY from the noise of the road, it faces away from the parking lot...so it is quiet...
and i have a nifty hole in the wall window between the dining room and the kitchen
it isn't huge, only abour 800 sq feet - more than twice the size where i live now...the second bedroom - I splurge, it will be my LIBRARY/OFFICE
i'm excited.
i'm trying not to get ecstatic.
i am thinking subdued thoughts.
i could get rejected and have to have my parents co-sign with me.
but!! also! yay! it's normally 595$ a month, but I am moving in on a special that knocks it down to 550$ a month, plus 20$ a month for the cats! and if i move by june 1st, first months rent is only 300$. Sooooo assuming everything works and that i can get in - i am going june 1st. i will still have to pay for 24 days in the "other" apartment, but it is worth it to me. I planned to move into the new apartment on the 12th anyway, and I would have had an overlap period that would have ended up costing me just as much if not more...
so.
new apartment.
yay!
p.s. I got pictures of me in my lovely asian dress for leslie's wedding and I cannot post them. I think they are too big. but i do not know how to make them smaller!

Oh man!!!! How exciting! I am ALREADY looking forward to moving into a nice, new (or old, hehehe) apartment with my honey in Belgium. His place right now is going to be a little cramped, but we can't really move into a bigger place until I get a job over there, which might be a long while with all of the immigration paperwork, etc... So, probably not until Winter... but damn... I am going to be just as ecstatic as YOU when it happens! OH!!!!! And... *I* really want a green bedroom, too!!!!!!!!
It sounds fantastic, real luxury compared to my little rainforest house.
To make pics smaller, open it in any imaging program, look for the 'resize' option, cut it down to about 3" x 3" and save it as a jpg. It will definitely be ok on Xanga then.
I use 400 X 400 pixels as a rule of thumb for xanga photos, Kelly. Of course, it doesn't have to be square - as long as one of the numbers doesn't go much higher than 400 pixels, you'll be fine. If you try it and it's too large, cut it down to 350 or 300 pixels.
What program are you using? If I can be of any help, just email.
