Possum mews pathetically constantly, but finally collapsed for a nap and some snuggle time a few hours ago. Boots…wow…what a bitch! she growls and hisses constantly…hopefully that will soon stop, she currently doesn’t want anything to do with anyone, so I gave her a nice pillow on the floor to snuggle with…

and they look so sad! big old naked patches on their bellies….their tummies are squished in ‘cuz they took so much stuff out

i suddenly wish i had boy kitties. they only have to have testicles snipped, no major traumatic surgery like my little girls…

still haven’t eaten or drank anything…got out some canned food (in very small amounts) and lots of fresh water….

hopefully soon.

my cats are getting spayed tomorrow!!!!!!!!!

I think I’m cracked out.

Yesterday, I had a good day and I had a terrible bad mood full of angry and depression.

Today I had a bad day.

And I’m in a good mood.

I swear, I just have my bad moods before I have my bad days. So, I guess I should start making notes of bad moods and then expecting the next day to suck?

winter quarter 2003: day 1

9:30 class – Biochemistry, while interesting, has just merited 110 pages of copies from the library from many different scientific journals… ah well, this is something to do in my free time!

10:30 lab meeting – paper presentation by my boss about fish (genetic drift or natural selection? you be the judge!) and a lot of discussion about what I’m doing next. What am I doing next….? I boiled water…I cook even in the lab…

today…I will run one more PCR, and pray it works…because if it doesn’t…well then, I dunno what I’ll do. Scream maybe.

Of course, this is all feeling rather pointless. The US is going to war against Iraq. I feel nearly as confused now as I did during the first Gulf War…what convenient reasoning is behind this idea? or do we even really bother? and what of this economic stimulus package? what of people who can’t get jobs? or pay their bills if they have jobs? what about pain, suffering, death, hunger…and all the many other things wrong with the world?

*sighs*

I’m trudging back to my DNA…at least there I don’t feel so out of my depths and in the dark…

this bob is approximately what my hair looks like…though only if i actually do it…

i couldn’t find a website of “what your hair looks like when you roll out of bed, jump in the shower and then mash your brand-new, cute, bobbed hair-cut into a sock hat and then jog about a mile and a half to campus”

so, right now it looks similar to said photo…only a lot flatter….damn sock hats…if only they weren’t so damn warm
