I had to borrow this from dwaber’s blog (his pretend word of the day)…because it made me smile when I read it….

1. What is the worst advice you’ve ever gotten?
That highschool is the best years of your life so you’d better make the best of them.
2. What’s the lamest (or bestest) pick-up line you ever heard?
actually, I’ve never had anyone attempt a pick-up line on me, but I will go with the much beloved, “Nice shoes, wanna fuck?”
3. What gives you peace?
coke, chocolate, kitties, electric blanket and a good book all at once
4. How would you orchestrate the perfect evening, if money were no object?
as in what would I do? I would go to dinner (at the Melting pot….mmmm fondue), then I would probably go to a movie, if I was feeling frisky and I wasn’t just taking myself out for the evening I’d probably try some Laser Tag or paintballing, all of this followed up by a stop at the Half-Price bookstore and then a hotel room with a hottub (there is nothing quite like sitting in a hottub relaxing with a good book)
5. What have you tried–and failed–to understand?
Business, especially economics.
6. Who has had the greatest impact on your life, but doesn’t know it, and probably never will. What was the nature of that impact?
Ronald Buesking, made me aware of the fact that no matter how intelligent you are, you have to keep learning.
7. What have you hidden?
my real self
8. Can you describe a situation in which you would consider it okay to lie?
white lies of course, “do you like my new haircut?” and other similar situations
9. Who knows you best?
Eric.
10. What is irresistible?
coke. Eric. new books.
Today is the 30th anniversary of the Clean Water Act — and although
the United States has made some strides in improving water quality,
it has still got a long way to go. A whopping 81 percent of major
wastewater treatment plants and chemical and industrial facilities in
the U.S. contaminated waterways beyond what their permits allowed
between 1999 and 2001, according to a report released yesterday by
the U.S. Public Interest Research Group. In more than 1,500
instances, the plants and facilities exceeded the limits set by their
permits by 10 times; in more than 350 instances, they exceeded limits
by 100 times. Releases of the most hazardous toxic chemicals —
those suspected to cause cancer and other serious health problems —
were eight times greater than permitted by the Clean Water Act, the
report stated. The report’s author, Alison Cassady, said, “Polluters
are breaking the law, not only frequently but flagrantly.” But U.S.
EPA spokesperson Joe Martyak said the report exaggerated pollution
problems.

fate hates me. fate hates me a lot.
I went to the doctor’s this morning, for my annual “woman’s” exam (that’s what they called it, apparently girls on college campuses are really embarassed by the world ‘gynecological’.). The test was free, and the pills (my limited 4 month script) were 5$. However, back to fate. I had a man for the exam this time, I’d never had a man before. When I made the appointment I thought, joy, a man an old man. Oh no! Not for wee little me. Young man. Very young man. Attractive man. Very attractive man. He had the most beautiful eyes….<sigh> and I didn’t shave my legs.
First new male in three years that I’ve been physically attracted to as well as mentally (he’s a doctor, he asked smart questions about my job and my research…). This male has not only seen me naked, he got to feel me up and all that assorted stuff, he knows all about my sex life. <sigh>
On some level, I’m mortified. On another level, I’m intrigued by one thing, well maybe two. Perhaps I read too much into it, but he only gave me the 4 month script, which means I have to go back in to “see him” (well, he said “see me” but you know what I mean). And the second thing is that he did ask for particulars about my current relationship, because I laughed when he asked “how long have you been together.” bah, overactive imagination and hormones most likely.
but such pretty, pretty eyes don’t belong in a man.
i miss mom food.
you know, the kind she cooks, brings to you, puts on your plate for you and then cleans up for you after you are all done eating.
does this make me a pig that i now want my mommy to take care of me?
<sigh> I don’t really care. I miss how yummy food can be when I don’t have to cook it for myself….
